Judith Gilmour (1937 – 2003)architectural stoneware
Judith’s inspiration came from her many trips to islands of the Mediterranean. A keen hill walker, she would often head out into the landscape, absorbing the architecture and texture. The colour palette is restrained – cool and warm whites, sand, greys and a heavy gritty black – and the forms simple yet strong. Taking their shape from the many “doocot’s” and watchtowers found there.
