Sustainability and the ethical journey of materials are an important and integral part of Disa’s practice.

Every year Disa travels to Kenya to source the majority of her gemstones. During these trips Disa visits a local gemstone supplier that she has worked with over the years.

Many of the gemstones sourced are originally from Kenya and East Africa. These beautiful Kenyan gemstones include tourmalines, sapphires, garnets, peridots and aquamarines.

A large percentage of the metal Disa uses to create her jewellery is recycled gold and silver. Disa has built up a reputation as a skilled jeweller when working with the sometimes unpredictable metals.
