“This collection of paintings is a cross section of my work from the countryside to the city.

My work is observational. There are no figures in these works as (i feel) it distracts from the architectural quality of the compositions. These places and subjects that I’ve previously visited contain an emotional charge. My response to nature and its elements.

Skies play a large part in my work. I love how they change the landscape.

The city paintings are a combination of memories of being a young child in Glasgow. I was in awe and fear of its architecture. The back alleys, churches and red stone tenements and later the knowledge of their sometimes-dark history.

I enjoy the craft of painting and will always continue to learn how to improve the process of picture making hoping the work has both an emotional and intellectual response in the viewer.”
