Moments of ReflectionMichael Corsar
One of the positive outcomes of lockdown was that I was able to focus fully on my painting. Something I’ve not had the pleasure of doing since art school 25 years ago. The joys (and the frustrations) of getting back into the studio were really rewarding and I hope this shows in this collection of paintings done over the last 12 months.
When we couldn’t travel. Couldn’t leave the house. Couldn’t meet friends or family. I escaped to happier times by painting my memories. Memories of holidays up the west coast – Kyle of Lochalsh, Ballachulish, the Ardnamurchan Peninsula – all play their part. Particularly the late evening. My favourite time of the day. A time to sit in relaxed contemplation, ideally with those you love, and be thankful for what you have.
