Based in Minniwick South West Scotland, Andy Priestman makes wheelthrown stoneware and porcelain, wood fired to 1300.C. He mixes his own clays, slips and glazes, incorporating a range of local clays and minerals from the landscape. His glazes are inspired by the ceramics of the East, though his pots are influenced by a more restrained Northern European aesthetic. He strives for a carefully made pot that is good to hold and use, with glaze and surface of rich depth and complexity.
